Hygge for Days
Carlyn and Eric
This gorgeous, outdoorsy couple live in Hawaii but wanted their wedding to take place in Los Angeles to be near family. The Lodge at Malibou Lake was the perfect place for them - an idyllic waterside spot full of natural beauty, but less than an hour’s drive from downtown. Chris Albanese with Argyle Events arranged a warm winter wedding full of family and fun. The Bride rocked a lean, long-sleeve dress with a dramatic mermaid hemline.
The bride had some unusual requests to make her day extra personal.
She tells the story of how Chef Cordelia “took food to a personal level by starting the evening with our love for pizza, cooked in a wood oven during cocktail hour for everyone to enjoy. She ended the night with my husband Swiss roots, a traditional raclette and soft pretzels.
My husband and I still smile daily thinking back to how incredibly lucky we were to get this experience. It was more than just a wedding, it was truly a celebration of our unity and love.”

The sunny weather at The Lodge was picture perfect for Amanda and Andrew’s March wedding. After a ceremony on the Grand Lawn under a flawless blue sky, the couple and their guests dined on swiss chard and ricotta ravioli, pan-seared salmon, and fillet mignon in a black peppercorn cognac sauce. Dessert was a playful buffet with all of the couple’s favorites. The party capped the reception with a photobooth, DJ and dancing into the night.
The sunny weather at The Lodge at Malibou Lake was picture perfect for Amanda and Andrew’s March wedding. The bride wore a white mermaid gown with a lace overlay and train. Della Robbia Events crafted Amanda’s dramatic spring florals, with white Sweet Pea, dark scarlet ’black’ peonies, dusky pink roses and velvety plum anemones for her bouquet, and the Groom wore an amethyst tie to match! The attire was formal but the groomsmen’s Air Jordans kept it fun; a nod to the groom’s basketball past as a WNBA Practice Player.
